Brazil is a country of cultural and artistic treasures, music is part of our identity, brings joy to our daily activities and is something that all Brazilians share. What initially began as a hobby and distraction has now become my passion and profession. How can I provide a little bit of Brazilian culture abroad? I ask myself constantly. My job is to find and establish contacts for artists, to discover spaces where they can express their talent and grow professionally.

I want to provide high quality events with excellent musicians, great sounds and most importantly Brazilian vibes. Introducing Sounds do Brazil London where we organize events in many places around the city, such as; Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Bar, Primo Bar, Pizza Express Live Jazz, Da Scalzo, Nolias Jazz Bar and many others venues.

ALLISON ADAMS TUCKER

www.allisonadamstucker.com

"World jazz with urbane cool."
Southern California vocalist Allison Adams Tucker comes to Ronnie Scott's Upstairs with her international group including Emmanuel Massarotti piano (Paris), Marco Panascia bass (NYC), and Enzo Zirilli drums (London).

With a voice “supple as silk” (eJazzNews), and “mesmerizing, whether in English, Portuguese, French” (GirlSingers.org), Allison creates a unique montage of jazz-driven melodies and Latin rhythms in 6 languages.

From Brazilian to boleros, French chansons to Mediterranean and beyond– ”expect the unexpected.” (Scott Yanow) As an international touring artist, Allison has entertained audiences in the US, Mexico, Japan, and Europe, and as a session vocalist, Allison’s voice can be heard on national television commercials and video games. Allison’s first album “Come With Me” was nomination for 2008 Best Jazz Album by the San Diego Music Awards, and continues to receive radio airplay in 18 countries.

Her second album “April in Paris" was recorded in Paris at the end of a European tour on the 1st International Jazz Day.

Allison has completed her third album "WANDERlust" this year in New York City under producer Matt Pierson (Milton Nascimento, Brad Mehldau, Becca Stephens) and including a group of world class musicians: pianist and arranger Josh Nelson, Chris Potter, Scott Colley, Antonio Sánchez, Mike Moreno, Romero Lubambo, Stéphane Wrembel, and Rogério Boccato. WANDERlust journeys into new territory with jazz inspired songs that span countries and genres, with all tracks being recorded in all 6 languages.

JULIANA AREIAS

“From the beaches of Rio to the Sydney Opera House”
Bossa Nova Baby is her nickname. And now also the title of her first original album.

After the “Bossa Nova Baby” album’s sold-out launch concert, on the 7th of February at the Ellington Jazz Club in Perth, Juliana Areias announces her next full band concerts at the “Perth International Jazz Festival on the 31st of May, and at the Sydney Opera House on the 8th of September, as part of the official consular celebration of Brazilian National Day and 70 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and Brazil.

– “The Album “Bossa Nova Baby” reflects the present, here-and-now, as well as the richness of the whole spectrum of Brazilian music with its multiple influences, combined with the wonderful quality of music produced in Perth, Western Australia.

Perth is considered the most isolated metropolis in the world, yet I think, it’s one of the most inspiring, musical and artistic places I have ever experienced “– says Juliana Areias, based in Perth since 2009.

“It’s bossa that plays soccer with jazz – like it has since the 60’s – and scoring a goal.” – says Antonio Carlos Miguel – music critic of O Globo newspaper and judge member of the Latin Grammy Award – about her song “Flecha” (Arrow), one of the tracks on the Bossa Nova Baby Album.

The song is dedicated by Juliana as a tribute to Rio de Janeiro, and was co-composed with Australian guitarist Glen Rogers. Juliana Areias also dedicates two other songs of her album to Australia: “Missao” (Mission) is dedicated to Perth and its “Samba de gafieira” dance community, while “Belas Artes” (Fine Arts) – co-composed with Australian virtuoso guitarist Doug de Vries) – is dedicated to Geoffrey Drake-Brockman, her favourite Australian Artist – creator of the sculptures “Spiral“ at the Perth Police Station and “Totem” (A.K.A. “The Pineapple”) at the Perth Arena.
